I photographed interior designer Aubrey Hancock in his Charleston home on a sunny September day. He met me at the door dressed in lime green and pink and showed me around his house, noting his handmade window treatments, the portrait of him above the piano, the chandelier that once belonged to Jackie O. He pointed out the parlors where lavish parties were held and became wistful at the mention of his life and business partner, Bill (and the memory of their first job that earned them a whopping twelve dollars).
