You wouldn't think somewhere called Burger Up would be the restaurant I most anticipated during my trip home to Nashville, but it was. My family has been raving about their quinoa burgers and truffled fries since they first ate dinner there a couple weeks ago.
The long wooden community tables and colorful fresh flowers stole my heart immediately. Then I smelled the truffle fries. Soaked in truffle oil, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the only word that accurately describes them is perfection. Although it's technically a burger joint, the food tastes gourmet and the decor is elegent, but the burger joint vibe is not lost; it feels festive and relaxed.
The truffled fries are reason enough to go every day for the rest of your life, but the portabello burger with the right kind of bleu cheese, cute sampler sliders, quinoa burger, sweet potato fries, s'mores tiramisu and chocolate peanut butter brownie with pistacho gelato were all mindblowing. If you are ever in Nashville, run, don't walk, to Burger Up (and you might find me buried in a pile of truffle fries).
