I decided to treat myself to chocolate con churros on my birthday (as if I needed an excuse). I walked over to the Chocolateria San Gines (hidden in a little back alley), which according to everyone, has had the best chocolate and churros in Madrid for 120 years.
I've never been much of a doughnut/funnel cake/fried dough kind of girl, but I will admit that the idea of chocolate and churros is super exciting. A huge mug of warm, intensely dark chocolate all for me? Yes please.
Instead of dipping the churros in the chocolate, I broke them up in tiny pieces and spooned them up. So much extra chocolate in every bite. Genius, right? I take my chocolate very seriously.
