During our trip to the fair, we worked up an appetite for something decdent but slightly more nutritious than deep fried butter. I've always heard the Early Bird Diner (which stays open all night) has great breakfast, but I always pictured it as a typical diner with heavy, greasy, average food.
I could not have been more wrong. They have an extensive breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as homemade ice cream and desserts (apparently lavender honey ice cream is their specialty). We were literally chilled to the bone after being outside, so our cups of tomato basil bisque hit the spot and had us wishing we ordered bowls. We decided to split a warm apple streusel bread pudding and call it a night.
